Web Publicity

Our goal in every publicity campaign is to increase the awareness and visibility of your book online. We specialize in tapping into all of the resources available on the Internet while staying abreast of the ever changing Web environment. According the the Pew Research Center, 37% of Americans are now going online to find news and reviews at least three days per week. This is a twenty-four point increase over the last decade. The daily viewing of online news has also increased even in the last two years from 18% to 25% in 2006 to 2008.

During our two and three month campaigns, our publicists pursue over 300 Websites and blogs for online book reviews, blogging and interview opportunities, and appropriate excerpt or article placements. We survey each site for their appropriateness and approach each one individually. This is a time-intensive method, but one that yields a greater number of placements for our projects.

We recognize that each author and book is different, and as such, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide an organic publicity campaign for every book. Described below are the areas we pursue to generate widespread exposure online.

Book Reviews
Publishers have long recognized that book reviews are the most cost-effective tools for marketers. By focusing on the book's core audience, consumers are reached directly through related Web sites and blogs. With a recent decline and elimination in print reviews, many readers are turning their attention to online reviews, where coverage of books continues to grow.

Excerpt & Article Features
The majority of Web sites are eager for content that are of interest to their readers. FSB Associates has established and continues to establish relationships with numerous Web sites - for both general interest and niche audiences. The core of our campaigns are set on providing these Web sites with ready-to-use electronic book excerpts and/or original articles from the author. These types of features happen faster and last longer than other types of media coverage, giving the buzz about a book a quick start as well as longevity.

Interviews
We will pitch the author to various sites for online interviews, both email and audio (podcast). Email interviews are growing in popularity as journalists find them an effective use of their time, allowing them to avoid telephone discrepancies and quick, uninformative responses.

Audio interviews, both streaming live or recorded for download, are popular on many sites including MSNBC, and The Washington Post.

Guest Blogging
It has been discovered that guest blogging opportunities on other high traffic blogs are much more effective than setting up an author's own blog. This is especially true for authors with little time to post blog entries on a daily basis. Some large scale bloggers include the Huffington Post and Druge Report, down to niche blogs such as SaraSays.com and others.

Social Networking
Social networks such as Twitter and Facebook have made an impact on the general buying public. From book groups to reviewers, to bloggers and general consumers, millions of individuals are accessible through these networks. We have developed our own networks on MySpace, Facebook, Ning, and Twitter and update them regularly. During our campaigns, we post your book on each of our networks, each currently maintaining a growing number of friends and fans.
